Dr.Dimah MahmoudBoard Member since 2018Dimah Mahmoud is a humanist by practice, activist by choice, and passionate co-creatrix by learning. With a Ph.D. in Sudanese Foreign Policy and international legitimacy and 13+ years of facilitating order by manipulating chaos, she thrives at the nexus of research, strategy and impact with a deliberate focus on connecting, amplifying and resourcing communities of Indigenous, particularly African ancestry for collective growth. She is the co-founder of the Nubia Initiative, NubiaFEST, AfricaWeek2020 and the Kandaka Official Platform. Dimah sits on the boards of Edfu Foundation, the World History Encyclopaedia and most recently Spring of Light. She consults on many intersectional efforts for reparative justice and is a proud team member of A Growing Culture, a collective of activists supporting grassroots movements around the world fighting for Food Sovereignty. As a self-proclaimed Warrior of Truth, Dimah vowed to beat the drums of unity till the world knows the Truth.
Her work contributes to advancing grassroots-lead socio-economic and political development in Africa and her diaspora. She consulted for the League of Arab States, UN Women Arabia, El Karama, Arab America Foundation, Massimedia, FUTOUR, EURAXESS North America and The Antiquities Coalition and more recently for the State of the African Diaspora of the African Union’s Sixth Region. In 2020, she visited her father’s village, Kabaaga in the Northern State in Sudan for the first time and planted the first seeds for an entirely community-lead, human-centered cultural heritage centre. Her intention is to apply intergenerational knowledge to youth-lead initiatives aimed at endangered heritage revitalization and socio-economic self-reliance through food sovereignty. |
