BIPOC Youth in Industry 4.0 is a continuation of our discussion from CSW66 when we held our panel for "BIPOC Women in Industry 4.0". It is a discussion focusing on bridging the Technology gap and preparing for Industry 4.0 with emphasis on BIPOC Youth and how this effort contributes to strengthening resilience, economic empowerment, and sustainable development. EDFU Foundation is working to continue this series to ensure the inclusion of everyone in the future of the next industrial revolution.
Industry 4.0 - Industry 4.0 is also known as the "next industrial revolution" and refers to the rapid change and progress within technology, information systems, and data collected from patterns in society's behavior. It is the future of business and commerce, and focuses on machines, real-time data, interconnectivity, manufacturing, and integrating systems.
BIPOC - Stands for: Black Indigenous People of Color
EDFU Foundation's event statement:
"EDFU Foundation continues the discussion from CSW66 into the 2022 ECOSOC Youth Forum for the United Nations April 18th-21st.
As the proliferation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution continues, technologies such as Drones, the Internet of Things, 3D printing, genetic editing, and AI capabilities exponentially increase existing inequities and inequalities amongst women and youth particularly Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) remain underrepresented in most countries who are continuing to pay the price of their continuously ignored deliberate and systematic oppression from their governments and the international system alike."
