The Work and Achievements of the EDFU FoundationEDFU Foundation, along with the Afronauts Collective, works throughout the year to achieve its goals and bring forth positive change. We would like to share our successes, achievements, and happy moments. We'd also like to highlight the work we have achieved in 2016.
To celebrate Marin Luther King Day, we went to San Francisco, CA to attend the Black Comic Arts Festival (BCAF).
Pictured is artist Paul Lewin who we met at the celebration and instantly loved his art! In April, Afronauts attended the Diary of a Badman premier in NYC, NY in support of fellow Afronaut and the director, Denrian.
Afronauts attended Kraken Con Spring on April 24 to show support to the Oakland area artists, cosplayers, and fan enthusiasts.
At the end of May, Afronauts attended FanimeCon in San Jose, CA to celebrate one of the largest fan conventions put on every year for fans by fans.
On June 19, Afronauts attended the Queer Comics Expo in San Francisco, California, which is a fairly new con that celebrates equality in gender and sexuality within comics and art. In July, Afronauts represented at the worlds largest comic convention held annually- San Diego Comic Con (SDCC).
In early September, Afronauts was a member of the press for the first ever comic convention for the city of San Francisco in San Francisco, CA. Afronauts interviewed several creators and top name artists in comic industry while at the show. The interviews can be found on the Afronauts YouTube page here. |
