EDFU Foundation participated in this years United Nation's Commission on the Status of Women 65th Session, March 15-26! The event was virtual this year, due to the pandemic, but this new format allowed many people from all over the world to attend and view the events that several organizations held. EDFU held 4 panels in collaboration with women around the world to discuss important topics and bring awareness to the issues that many women are facing. The panel discussions are still posted on our Facebook page and we invite you to visit and take a listen if you missed them when they went live.
EDFU Foundation continues to operate our Bay Area Street Pantry in Oakland, California, USA. Every Tuesday we guarantee to handout 100 bags of groceries to people in need! There is nothing to sign or to give. We aim to end food insecurity and help people who need to feed their families. We've been generating a lot of interest lately in volunteers to help handout food! We really appreciate it and can always use help! However, we are in great need of volunteers with vehicles who can help transport food! If we can increase the volume of food delivered to our base at the Melrose Library, we could provide more bags of food to the community! To volunteer, please fill out our form. We need drivers from 9:45am-10am on Tuesdays and afternoons during the week.
