What is EDFU doing to achieve health and well-being for all?

EDFU Foundation has been working with people, tribes, and communities around the world to help improve their well-being.

Bay Area Street Pantry

Our Bay Area Street Pantry helps to provide sanitation pads for women in need and the homeless. We also provided toilet paper during the height of the pandemic and we often provide soap in our weekly bags.

Ylê Asé de Yansã

EDFU Foundation has been working to campaign and support the Ylê Asé de Yansã of Sal Paulo, Brazil this year. This quilombo has suffered with much resistance from their government over land and has been greatly impacted by COVID-19; struggling to provide education, food, spirituality, and health for their community. Their community building collapsed and caved in, making it impossible to continue to operate in and they need help to rebuild.

On October 23, 2021, our president will embark on a trip to Brazil to physically help build the new community building for the Yle Ase De Yansa, as well as provide laptops and school supplies for the children to be able to receive education during the pandemic, as well as help them to purchase agricultural equipment for them to be able to grow their own food sustainably. PLEASE DONATE IF YOU CAN HELP US to purchase the necessary items! This financial campaign is short and we only have 11 days to do it! All donations  are tax-deductible through our 501(c)(3).

Checkpoint

• How would you define "good health and well-being" for an individual?

• What is needed in your life and for your community to have good health and well-being?

• How has the COVID-19 pandemic impacted health and well-being for you and your community? What have you noticed about the world-wide health situation during the pandemic?

• Have you noticed a lack of healthcare workers in your community?

• How have drugs impacted life and health around you?

• Do you feel your living conditions and/or work conditions are safe? How can we improve these for others?

• What are you doing to help the world reach the goal of good health and well-being for all by 2030?
